If you ask someone in Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island SA, where to dine, you`ll certainly get "The Old Post Office Restaurant" as an answer. It i said to be the best restaurant in town (not difficult, as the town is rather small), but it`s perfectly true!
Serving vegetarian and home-style meals as well as delicious seafood, the Old Post Office is a place to be remembered: located in a refurbished, historic old postoffice, with a large al fresco-dining garden (heated on cold evenings),a romantic alcove where dining is shere fun !
Food is very good, especially local seafood-dishes and other Aussie-food.
Favorite Dish: Seafood salad - a rich and well selected mixture of catch of the day, vegetables and prawns.
One of the few places to eat and probably the best place is the OLD POST OFFICE RESTAURANT.
The dining room has many hanging baskets full of ferns and greenery. There is a heater in the center of the room to keep you from being to chilled.
We had very good seafood and Halloumi cheese. It was the first time that I had tried fried cheese.
