THE FLINDERS RANGES
Favorite thing: We had been on the other side of the Flinders Ranges and seen very rugged Mountains, cliffs, gorges, fantastic scenery.
Now, at Port Augusta, the Flinders Ranges are different again. They are big, rolling mountains that Sheep graze on. If you are staying at Port Augusta, I hope you can view them at different times of the day, because as the shadows change, so the Mountains change. I found myself taking more photos!
They are a beautiful sight from here, more "gentle," but still wouldn't be an easy climb.
At there base, plenty of saltbush is growing, sheep are grazing on it, and the Shearing Shed sits in the middle, this is life out here!

- National/State Park
Favorite thing: Port Augusta is the cheapest place to buy fuel your car. It is cheaper than what you can buy in the Flinders Ranges and cheaper than anywhere further when heading west.
If you have a shopping discount fuel voucher from Coles, then head to the Shell garage and receive another 4 cents litre off the price of your fuel.
To get one of these vouchers, just spend more than $30 at a Coles supermarket and on the bottom of your receipt is the fuel voucher.

Blue skies and green parks
Favorite thing: Port Augusta has long been known as one big petrol stop for travellers, but take a tour off the highway and you will notice the natural beauty of the area, including the green parks and beautiful weather.
Fondest memory: I miss the views when I am away and the morning walks along the foreshore in the crisp still air with yachts on the gulf and the sunrise over the Flinders.
