    Curdnatta: Cheap and Cheerful

    by gravity6 Written May 25, 2008

Curdnatta Art Group are a group of locals who paint, pot, dye silk and a whole lot more, they are a not for profit organisation and sell their wares at the Curdnatta Art Gallery.

What to buy: They have much to choose from but have a particulary good range of ceramic ware, great for gifts and souvenirs.

What to pay: Not much, they have very reasonable prices

    Local pubs and clubs: Paintings

by Dxenion Updated Apr 14, 2004

What to buy: If you're after art from local artists in the 'Gateway to the Outback' as Port Augusta is known as, go to any of the local hotels, pub or club and have a meal.

Generally speaking, all of the artwork you see adorning the walls will be available for sale. Just ask your waiter/ waitress for details.

You'll find paintings of the local landscape, abstract art or still life compositions in all sizes and styles here. Ask around because some paintings are also available unframed.

If you don't see what you're after, the staff should be able to point you in the direction of someone who does.

What to pay: Because they're not in a gallery with the associated overheads, you'll find the prices surprisingly inexpensive.
