If you need to use public transport to reach Victor Harbour, it is easy.
Premier Stateliner [Bus service] depart from Adelaide Central Bus Station @ 111 Franklin Street
AT.... 9.30am, 12.00pm, 3.00pm, 3:30, 4.30pm weekdays and 9.30am, 4.30pm on Saturday.
The journey is quiet scenic and takes about 1hr 40mins.
There are two ways of getting there by car from Adelaide:
1. The slightly longer way - Take the M1 and exit at Mount Barker, head to Strathalbyn and from there to Victor Harbor.
2. The Shorter way - Main South Road and take the M2 via McLaren Vale and A13 to Victor Harbor.
All ferries leave from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island which is approx 35mins drive from Victor Harbour.
Coaches also go from Adelaide 101 Franklin Street Adelaide on the Sealink Connection. Coaches depart Adelaide at 6.45am or 3.45pm to connect with the ferry at Cape Jervis at 9.00am or 6pm. Certain hotels in Adelaide also have pick-ups.
The other ferry line is called "Spirit of Kangaroo Island" which leaves Cape Jervis at 10.00am/ 1pm/ 4pm and 7pm.
Coaches also depart from Victor Harbour and Goolwa. - 6.50am Departs Sun, Mon, Tues, Thur and Friday. to connect with the 9.00am ferry to Kangaroo Island.
Victor Harbor is situated approx 80kms south of Adelaide, the drive takes around 80 minutes depending whether you want to stop at Mclaren Valley. The roads are all sealed and well sign posted.
