Bicheno is a quiet town, with most people coming for the coastline and provisions for continuing their journey. But something that does offer a few minutes of diversion is the walk over to the Blowhole.

The Foreshore Walkway is about 3km long (one way) and follows the coast from the main town center north to Redbill Point, and south down past Rice Pebble Beach. You can drive/walk along most of it since it parallels a main

Its free, open 24/7 and gives a nice vista of the ocean, its kelp bed forest, Governor Island, etc. and a chance to stretch your legs.

Natureworld is a refuge and rehabilitation center for most of Australia's indigenous species. There are countless birds or all sorts from small parakeets to parrots to peacocks. There are several snakes of various types. Also running free are the ubiquitous kangaroos and little joeys. Most people will however spend their time with the wombats and Tasmanian devils.

There are a few animal keepers walking around sharing stories and facts about the critters they have. Feeding times are a couple times per day which are listed on the website [x3 times for Tasmanian devils, x2 times for the birds, x1 for the snakes and once for the other mammals].

There is an entry fee of $22 for adults. Discounts given for families. Opening hours are 9am~5pm daily. The cafe also serves good food pretty cheap.

When you are in Bicheno you can also visit the East Coast Bird Life Park, it is a few miles out of the town centre.
It shows a lot of Australian birds and you can just walk between them. There are some feeding shows and also some children attractions. So it is a good day out for a family!

p.s. they also have a few Tasmanian Devils!!
