People here are really friendly. Don't think that they are making fun of you if a complete strange starts a conversation, thats just the way it is. Relax and remember the way the rest of the world used to be. Leave a Comment

Park Youth by ATXtraveler I noticed that there was a very large contingency of youth, ages ranging from 15-25 hanging out in the main park in downtown Hobart. It seemed to me like it was a normal time for school children to be at school still, so this may have been a ditch day! It seemed like this looked very similar to a college square, but UTAS was several blocks away! If anyone knows more on why so many youth hangs out in the park in Hobart, let me know! Leave a Comment

'Go Reggie' cake by Gwynneth Reggie is the first Tasmanian in a Big Brother house and has won the hearts of Australians everywhere. Thousands of "Go Reggie" bumper stickers thanks to Eye Spy Signs have been given away. As part of the campaign shops and businesses, homes and even a towtruck have been decorated with 'GO Reggie' signs and posters with a $200 prize for the best effort. Bakeries have produced "Go Reggie" cakes and biscuits. The Kitchen Bakery is now selling thousands of kiss biscuits per week all aound Australia and even to Canada and the UK! Each biscuit is adorned with Reggie's face and the words "Go Reggie". People have hosted weekly Eviction Parties at Wrest Point with supporters dressing up, listened to chats with Reggie's family and friends and watched Big Brother on a huge screen. Tassie has done whatever it took to get Reggie over the line to win the $250,000! Congratulations Reggie! Leave a Comment

by mocca Even being a small island, there are some good cultural things to see, some old english settelments. Port Arthur is the biggest atraction in the cultural sence, and it is a good one too. The oldest casino stands in Hobart and after Sydney, hobart is the oldest city of Australia. Driving around Tasmania you will see more things like the spikey bridge or the old railroad in Devonport. So enjoy your stay in Tasmania. Leave a Comment

by j-san OK, I stand corrected... there is ONE time of the year when Hobart lets its hair down. Between Christmas and the New Year, for the Annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. This is the 57th race. Looks like a Sydney yacht won this year. http://www.sail-world.com/sydne tohobart/ Leave a Comment
