    There is a small visitor center at the top and a car park but not a lot else, i didn`t see any toilets but fear not, there is a great pub half way down.

  • This mountain overlooks the city. It's nice to look at, but it's better to climb and look from. The view are great. You can see the city and on a good day, the as far as the southwest corner of Tassie.

    If you are really up for a hike, climb the mountain. There are roads and paths. The peak is just over 4,000 feet above sea level. However, you can take a bus up. Better yet, make friends with someone who has a car. :)

    This was DEFINITELY worth the drive up. The whole thing probably took us about 2 and a half hours round trip, but that's because we stayed up top to watch the sunset. The view is spectacular, almost like looking down from an airplace that's how high it feels! The drive up is a bit of a rush, as you really feel how high you are. It was absolutely freezing up the top, even though it was a sunny day, and I was wearing a parka, scarf, and jeans. It almost felt like we were about to go skiing, that's how cold it was, so take really warm things to rug up in.

    Walked the road way from the pickled frog on liverpool st to the top of mount wellington at a fairly quick pace and it still taken 4 hours. There are plenty of tracks/footpaths on the way up. It was clear at the top and you can see for over 40 miles but this is not usually the case. The temp is 5-10 degrees C cooler than at sea level so come prepared.

    The walk nearly finished me off so I got the bus half way back!!!!!

    When you have the chance, go to Mount Wellington. You will have a great view over Hobart. It will take you about 20 minutes by car to go from the centre of Hobart to the lookout on Mount Wellington.
    I was there at the end of September. At this time of the year you can find some snow on the Mountain. You also will be blown away as the wind is pretty heavy.
