Bird World isn't a huge bird park, but rather a smaller, more intimate and personal one, the creation of which began as just one man's hobby over a 20 year period (he was later encouraged to open it to the public, about 10 years ago or more now).
It takes about an hour to see it all, but you can linger a lot longer around some of the cages (I know I do), especially when the talking birds greet you, one after another, and then afterwards before leaving the park you can have a coffee or a drink at the cafe with its balcony looking down on the created rainforest and boardwalk of the park.
At $8 for adult entry, I find it most reasonable (about 1/2 the price of the Wildlife Park, which is also great, but much more commercial, and which also takes about an hour to see). For value for money, these days I prefer Bird World. With the birds and all their antics, it's never the same twice.
