In Corio / Norlane (these suburbs lie side by side - divided by Cox Road) you can
    - visit the John Drysdale Library,
    - take in some shopping at Corio Shopping Centre or Bell Park Shopping Centre,
    - go to Norlane Waterworld for swimming, gym, spa or for the water slides
    - take in Centenary Hall if there is an exhibition on
    - go to Stead Park and watch some sports - baseball, soccer, hockey
    - play some sports or watch it - Corio Football Club and North Shore Football Club both have thier homegrounds in Norlane and Corio.

We have restaurants for dining at Corio Shopping Centre or takeaway food stores on Melbourne Road in Corio and in Norlane.

The Norlane Hotel has Oppy's Bistro for dining, with a children's play area.
The Gateway Hotel (previously Sundowner Hotel) has Ayces Bistro and a Pokies venue.
The Sphinx Hotel (used to be the Golfview Hotel) has dining facilities and a Pokies venue, karaoke and disco.

Beckley Park is our nearest race track - horse and dog racing are held here. You can also come out to Beckley Park in Corio on a Saturday market for our indoor / outdoor market.

Corio starts at Beckley Park in Corio (on Melbourne Road) and continues to Norlane Waterworld. From Norlane Waterworld to the Norlane Hotel on Melbourne Road, you are travelling in the suburb of Norlane.

    Lots to do and see.

Corio - Playgrounds, Parks & Recreation Reserves

When I talk about Corio and Norlane I also mean the Northern Suburbs of Geelong - this area has the following suburbs in it:
    Corio
    Norlane
    North Geelong
    Drumcondra
    Bell Park
    Bell Post Hill
    Lovely Banks

Today's tip is about places to play - sometimes when you are travelling a huge distance, you might like to sit down for a while, put your feet up, relax and let your children out for a play. Most suburbs in Geelong have parks, reserves, recreational reserves and playgrounds. You will find most of these places also have picnic areas, sometimes barbecues, toilet facilities and usually a playground of some description.

Most playgrounds are fenced off from main roads (but you still need to be vigilant and watch toddlers and children at all times), and there are usually picnic tables, barbecues (free or coin operated) and toilet facilities. Notice that at the North Shore playground there are newly planted trees and recently laid paths.
