Dartmoor Things to Do
The General Store, and in a small village like Dartmoor, it sells everything!
The owner was extremely friendly, and filled us in on the Chainsaw carvings, and how they were bringing business back to the town.
The information centre is located in the general store, and so are the computers for the Public to use.
The cost for these is $4 for 1 hour and $2.50 for half hour.
Next door to the shop, is the big FREE Public Toilet BlockRelated to:

I didn't go into this Museum as it was shut, and I still don't know what the opening hours are.
It is located in the main street, and still looks in it original condition from when it was built as a coach house/blacksmith shop from local field limestone in the 1880's. It was used as commercial purposes until becoming a museum in 1993.
According to the brochure, inside is a chance to view the trials and triumphs of a rural community by looking at the collection of photographs, artefacts, implements and historical documents (minute books, rolls and histories) highlighting the social heritage of the district.
Outside, there were some old pieces of machinery which were attached to the MuseumRelated to:

The collection of chainsaw-sculpted artwork includes the wonderful Nursery Rhyme tree located in the Village park. The Tree has over 20 fairytale characters sculpted in the wood, really a wonderful piece of creativity by the Artist. There is also an assortment of carved animals watching over the village green, a fence where each post has been carved into something, a very nice children's playground and bbqs.
So, after looking at the war memorials, continue on and over the creek to the village green, as the Nursery Rhyme Tree is a MUST SEE.
