The Napier is a 20 minute walk from Melbourne CBD, or catch the number 112 East Brunswick tram from Collins Street. Get off the tram one stop after Gertrude Street and walk east.

Most melburnians know about this classic cool pub. But if you are new to Melbourne it would be considered a hidden gem. Go there for a relaxing drink and a HUGE and cheap pub meal. A word of warning about the service, the people behind the bar are very efficient but can be a bit short with you so don't go to this pub to tell the barman your troubles. Still it's an institution and hasn't changed a bit in all the years I've been going there.

Great Neighbourhood bar with great pub food and one of the best beer gardens in the area. This top spot is great when you want to get away from the main strip and relax with a beer and a mate.

Dark, mood lighting.
During uni it can be overwhelmingly busy, so arrive early.
