Readings Cinema: A Great Night Out!

by Marpessa Updated Feb 2, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are two cinemas in Geelong - I prefer Readings. It has larger screens, surround sound and stadium seating. There is also selection of 'Cinema Paradiso' movies, which are usually foreign language.

There are also two restaurants located next to Readings, LaPorchetta and Panache.

Dress Code: It's the movies - go however you want.

Reading Cinema - will get a better pic soon! Inside the cinema

  • Reading Cinemas: Waurn Ponds Movie Theatre

    by Billy_26 Written Jun 5, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Reading Cinemas in Waurn Ponds is located in the suburbs.

The parking is very good here.

This Cinemas is far superior to the Village Cinema in Geelong City. The surround sound is better and the seating much more comfortable.

Dress Code: If you want to grab a bite to eat there is a La Porcetta Italian Restaurnant at the Movie Theatre and it is really cheap and the service is fast.

The Village Cinemas in Geelong has 11 Cinemas.

The facade of the building is definately worth a look as it has been restored to it's original glory.

They have a Gold Class Cinema too where you pay more to watch the movies. You sit in recliner seats and can order a bite to eat and a drink whilst watching the movie.

Dress Code: Something comfy as you are gunna be sitting down for a while.

  • Beav's Bar, Film Night: Red Rum Film Society

by margywaan Written Aug 31, 2011

Red Rum Film Society screens movies for members on the first Tuesday of each month at Beav's Bar, 77 Little Malop Street Geelong. Expect to see films that don't often make it to the major cinemas in town.

Grab a glass of wine and pick out a comfy couch, then sit back and relax. Red Rum screens a variety of movies from Art house to Classic with a mixture of new and old and foreign titles. There's something for everyone in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Dress Code: smart and casual. just like you.
