    Geelong and District Peace Memorial

    Notice this is called a Peace Memorial - not a war memorial - one of the foundation stones was laid in October 30th 1922 by Ald (Alderman) Howard Hitchcock - Mayor of Geelong.

    Ths building, found in Johnstones Park, Geelong honors the fallen in
    - The Great War 1914 - 1918
    - and it honors our other wars but I have lost the photos of those plaques so I will add them later - I like to be accurate in my details.

    Another area of the same beach, a lot more shade for those very hot days..
    In fact most of the beachfront is very well shaded with lots of established shade trees.

    Geelong has many beautiful old homes, like this one, which is on the foreshore, at Eastern Beach. This house is obviously a private residence.

    Geelong has quite a history and is fortunate to still have many homes that were built in the 1800's.
    Many of these are beautiful mansions, and have lovingly been kept in original order.

    The Geelong Post Office is a lovely historical building with lots of character.
    There are many such buildings in the city of Geelong, and most can be seen just by walking around the central part of the city.

    Just across from the beach is a park area, and there is also a fun park for the kids to enjoy. Lots of rides... for big kids also...
