by Anne12 As you drive own the Main road of Hepburn you are sure to see the bright colours of the display in the Gardens of Portla The girls have decorated the Gardens with colourful lanterns and gear. Here you can get funky cloggs, clothes and fashion jewellery. It's a fun place to wonder around in side the shop and outside on the lawns. Day Spa Products by Anne12 There are so many Day Spas in the area. I would recommend that if you are staying in the area ask your accommodation where they would recommend. You could also ask at the tourist information centrein Daylesford. If you want to email me I could also give you some options. Prices will depend on what you choose. All Day Spas have lists of therapies and prices. Leave a Comment

Beautiful lavender & the main stone cottage by saraheg77, 4 more photos My favorite stop during our weekend in Hepburn Springs was the Lavandula Lavender farm. It was the end of November and the lavender was gorgeous. I could have spent all day exploring and enjoying the farm. You could run around in the lavender fields that also had some beautiful flowers growing in different colors, have a bite to eat (the famous lavender scones) at the cafe, check out the animals, explore the art gallery, or shop in the large gift shop. I did buy some lavender products in the shop. A lavender bubble bath for $12.50 that smells great and bubbles well and a hand soap for $9.50 and foot soak for $4. As I mentioned, the lavender scones were very tasty with just a subtle hint of lavender. See my pictures for a shot of Anne & the scones. Entry fees: $3 Adult, $1 Students , Under 13 Free , Dogs on leashes are welcome. Hours: 10.30am - 5.30pm Daily 1 September - 2 July Weekends July/August Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Check the website below for a full menu, product list, and special event information (the harvest times in January look pretty fun). Gold miners built this tunnel through a quartz reef between the 1850s & 1870s. It was built to divert Sailors Creek so they could scour the creek bed for gold. There is an impressive little waterfall to see when the creek is full. The Blowhole is a short jaunt from the carpark and there is a plaque with more details of the tunnel. It is easy to get to and a quick stop for a pretty sight. The Blowhole is part of Hepburn Regional Park,"... which is nestled around the famous mineral springs townships of Daylesford, Hepburn and Hepburn Springs. The Park contains natural mineral springs and significant relics of the gold mining era, all set in delightful bush surroundings. Each season provides a different experience, with spring being a time of activity, growth and colour." You can check the website below for details on the walks and other areas of the park. Lavendula Lavender Farm - Outside of Hepburn Springs It cost $3.00 to go into the Lavendula Lavender Farm - it was money well spent. You could spend the whole day there. At Lavendula Lavender Farm you can walk among the lavender beds and smell the roses. There are numerous garden paths you can walk along. You can meet a scarecrow in one of the garden beds. We met a flock of geese with goslings (baby geese) which were cute and yellow and fluffy. We walked around all the garden beds. Then we walked to the Artists Residence - sometimes it is open and you can see an artist at work - there was no-one there the day we went. We saw some llamas lying around - rolling in the dirt. Then we wandered over to the restaurant - here you can purchase home made lemonade, scones, jam and other delicacies. At the restaurant you can purchase lavender scones, jam and cream (two scones) for $7.50. It was a tad expensive but yummy. Directions: Lavendula Lavender Farm is just out of Hepburn Springs towards Yandoit.

During our wild weekend with Anne12 in Hepburn, we took a drive out to Lavendula Lavender Farm, which is a wonderful little afternoon spot. Although there were clouds coming over the horizon with rain written all over them, AussieDoug, Sarah, Anne and I trekked out to the farm to get the smell of fresh lavender in our noses before the rain came in. We were lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful day in the fields, without a single drop falling on our head. There are several different fields of lavender, and also a great rose garden. There would be plenty of places for bridal portraits, and there were several couples walking around looking for the place to take the perfect photo. There is also a good little cafe located here on the farm, but you will read more about that in the restaurant tips! Leave a Comment

one of the lavender gardens by Kate-Me Lavendula is originally Swiss-Italian and the property has been there since the 1850's. It is also a rather wonderful lavender farm. A good time to visit is during the Lavender Harvest - this year held on the (2nd, 3rd & 4th week of Jan) where there is also entertainment and stalls and other things to be seen as well. January 2004 was my first ever visit there and I rather enjoyed the European atmosphere. Leave a Comment Address: Shepherds FlatDirections: drive through Hepburn Springs and turn left at the brown sign to the farm. 5 kms more will lead you directly there.
