If you spend time in Marysville, you are sure to notice streaks of bright red or flourescent green flitting through the sky. These birds are "king parrots" as one resident of Marysville explained to me. Their mannerisms remind me of the North American version of a pigeon - yet so much more colorful and beautiful!! Whey can't I have red pigeons??

Steavenson Falls is one of the main attractions of the village of Marysville. The falls tumbles 83 meters down the forest hills and is an amazing sight both by day and by night. At night, the falls is lit by several floodlights. A nice hiking trail will take you to the top of the falls, or you can admire its beauty from the bottom. The ancient beech forest itself is quite intriguing with its tall ancient trees.

Visit a trout and salmon farm near Marysville. There are a few around, some easy to catch fish, others a bit more difficult and challenging. Fishing gear and bait is for hire at the farm. Beware: You buy what you catch, so dont go over board! The fish can be cleaned for you there if you want and is ready to cook (plenty of BBQs in the area).
Just before entering Marysville, a right hand turn takes you to this farm (challenging and less fish). There are signs on the road so you cant miss it. The other one (easier to catch fish) is at Buxton, a few kms from Marysville - follow the road signs once you are in the town.
