Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne
attend a major sporting event at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). I would recommend football, it's uniquely Australian and it's a great spectator sport, the crowd alone will make it worth while. Sit in the outer, grab a pie from the pie boy and enjoy!
Fondest memory: is my football team (Carlton) beating Essendon by a point at the MCG in the 1999 Preliminary Final
COLOR=RED anyone wishing to travel to Melbourne from overseas and is wondering what it has to offer I can assure you there is plenty to see and do.Melbourne has many attractions such as wonder ful parks and gardens to world renouned sporting complexes such as the M.C.G(melbourne cricket ground) there is also a large mixture of bars ,clubs restaurants and shopping area's such as the Queen Victoria market to the trendy strips such as chapel street .the Melbourne casino is said to be one of the lagest single casino's in the world.opening in 1998 at a cost of 1 billion dollars to set up.Melbourne also has some really cool places that for some reason are not easy to find it is almost like there setting a challenge for you to find them and if you can they will show you what you had been missing. so hope fully i can give you some basic info on this page about my city.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory of melbourne would probably be watching our National sport of australian rules football at the M.C.G at finals time in september in front of crowds of 90,000 plus. you really feel Australian because the game is totally Australian.Apart from that it would be the summer months when melbourne really comes to life with festivals, sporting events and the the almost national past time of a barbie with your mates barbie meaning B.B.Q.This photo is at the M.C.G when cameroon played chilli in the semi final of the soccer in the Olympic games .Soccer was the only sport were some games were played outside sydney.considering no aussie team was playing and soccer is not over popular in australia a crowd of 65,000 was a great turn out on such a terrible rainy night
The main use for the Mighty M.C.G is for aussie rules footy.
In a normal season the biggest game outside the finals is Anzac Day 25th of april.
Collingwood and Essendon Play each year and Yes I havent missed any of these games (EVER)
The average crowd is 80,000 with the largest being 92,500 yep i was at that one too .
Fondest memory: footy ,footy and footy what you didn't here me FOOTY
aussie style .I PROMISE ANY VT MEMBER THAT COMES FROM OVER SEAS TO TAKE YOU AND TO PAY IF YA ASK ME>
IT WILL JUST BLOW YOU AWAY ( hope fully I will convert one more person to the black and white army.)
