 | Melbourne Nightlife | Tips 31 - 40 of 210 | | Carlton Garden, or any other gardens Most people think that possums are pests, but I like them and enjoy bringing them fruits (apples and pears). They only come out at night and are very timid, but once they sense that you are not gonna harm them they'll take the fruits from your hand, and might even let you pat them. :)
Don't think the possums care. :p Leave a Comment Theme: Family SpotDirections: Carlton Garden and Fitzroy Garden, both are in the city

When I am in Melbourne I check if any good bands are playing and alot of the time they play here. It is a very good venue located in the city. Have seen some great bands play here over the last few years. This venue is only open when bands are playing here though, which is nearly every weekend. The St Arnou, I discovered upon visiting it with a group of friends at the end of August 2004 for drinks, is just as attractive on the inside as outside. On the wall there is a large board telling the story of St Arnou (born in the 500s AD, became a bishop, and his favorite beverage was quoted to be beer - hence inspiration for the name of the pub). There is a lot of use of wood panelling all around the walls, and the tables and bar are also of this dark. solid wood. Behind the bar is also quite Gothic, almost alter-like with wooden spires, small sliding in and out drawers and wooden cubby holes for wine bottles. It was quiet in there when we arrived at 5.30, but by 6.30 the place was packed. The menu was quite varied, between $14-$19 main meals, with weekday dinner changing special for about $10. Here we are below - some of the gang from Francedownunder.com (Melbourne branch). Crown is the place to be if gambling, shopping or looking for some music, alcohol or just somewhere to let your hair down.. Its got everything that has to do with entertainment whether you want to spend a little or spend alot
neat casual in most places, depends on where you are going to in the complex.. Some places would prefer a collar and tie for men, and smart casual for women Theme: DancingAddress: southbank

This is a laid back little venue in Carlton which not only provides a relaxed atmosphere but the cheapest cocktails in Melbourne! You only have to pay $11 for three truly superb cocktails, including a 'Sandra Sully' - named a local newsreader. On Wednesdays its even cheaper - $11 for 4 cocktails. The barstaff are friendly and the retro couches are comfy - you feel like you're just popping over to your friend's place for drinks in the living room rather than going to a bar! Another big plus is the music - they play albums all the way through - ranging from Beck to Lambchop (yep that sock puppet who sings kids' songs). A top notch venue for any occasion! Leave a Comment

Another view, in a slightly different direction. This one shows the Crown Casino Complex in the foreground, and Albert Park Lake area, where the Grand Prix is held every year. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 525 Collins st. Melbourne.

It is like a little English pub, with memorabilia and a great atmosphere. We went here at 11pm after the footy finished so couldn't try a meal, but apparently they are quite good.
