A visit to melbourne would be incomplete without going to the famous Melbourne Cricket ground.. it is the jewel in every Melbournites crown!!!It is the home of course to cricket but also hosts many other national and international sporting events..I went there to an Australian Rules football match(I am not a lover of spectator sports!!!)not really expecting to have a great time..
It started with huge banners being brought on and the players jumping thru them(obviously made of paper...)Mascots for each side running around the oval pitch.. From then on i enjoyed myself.. watching the sidesmen/umpires was a joy.. they have almost robotic movements.. and the points scored escalated alarmingly to my novice ears..The players in their cut off sleeve sweaters appear to be aggressive but i was told , on good authority , it is all in love!!!!!It was good fun.. even the traditional meat pie at half time!!!!!!

I think their is also a museum of sporting attributes of many of Australia's famous sons..(please check)
