Melbourne's Moomba Festival is held every March, so if you are in town for the Formula 1 Grand Prix why not check it out. It is located along the Yarra River adjacent to Federation Square.
There are parades, rides, fireworks, live-music and films for the kids (Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo).
An International Waterski Championships is also held on the Yarra as part of the festival.
