A must stop when visiting Melbourne is the Visitor's Center in Federation Square. Here you can find free guide books, maps, transporation information, book guided tours and purchase travel books. Inside are several helpful staff to answer any questions you might have about Melbourne and the surrounding areas. They also have a nice gift shop that hase everything you might want to buy for the people back home: post cards, books, clothing, magnets, stuffed animals, toys, guide books, souvenir glasses,etc.
My wife and I picked up several maps as well as transporatation guides. We also spent some time in the gift shop buying some souvenir items.
This is a one stop shop of information of where to go and what to do in Melbourne. There are brochures, internet facilties, souvenirs and friendly volunteers on hand to help you enjoy your stay.
