Here is the big marquee which was set up for the nightly entertainment at the track at the Phillip Island Grand Prix. You can see how close it and the track are to the coast - a very pretty spot indeed for a race track!

One of the things that Phillip Island has been most famous for over many years is it's nightly penguin colony, which comes right up the beach, making them very easy to see.
I'm afraid personally I can't include this one as a 'must see' as it is to many people, because I know better, less touristy places to see these little creatures and feel a bit sorry that they literally have to be in the spotlight to hundreds of tourists each and every night.
Dress Code: There is no dress code....but you'd better dress warmly! Even in summer, Phillip Island has the reputation (and lives up to it) of being very windy and freezing cold at night. Many people get caught out and don't realize just how cold it can get here, as you wait for the penguins to parade up the beach.
Be prepared!

Phillip Island is VERY limited when it comes to night life. It only has 2 bars. One of which is an Irish bar, which is ridiculously expensive and dead, although did have a fantastic looking bar maid. The other is the main bar opposite the pier. This is where the locals hang out.
Dress Code: Mullets, check shirts etc
