There's a small strip of shops and restaurants on Point Lonsdale Road itself overlooking the grassy foreshore of the Front (protected) Beach. Arguably the best cafe/restaurant is 'Kelp' (certainly the best coffee), open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Contemporary in decor with the food to match - excellent breakfasts. 'Pasquini's' runs 'Kelp' a close second – you can also grab takeaway sandwiches and pies and head off to the beach. And the eponymous Fish & Chip shop is pretty good too.
