To get to Port Nepean itself, you can either leave your car at the visitor's centre and hire a bike for about $15 ea or walk the 5 or so kms to the fort, or do as we did, and take a more unusual form of transport, a tractor train, (About $13 return) for a leisurely scenic ride.
Or, you can take your car 2 kms further on and leave it at that carpark (the last one) and walk or take the tractor train from there (there are about 3 stops along the way for setting down and picking up).
