by richiecdisc Fabulous authentic and cheap Vietnamese restaurant.
Pho, a Vietnamese beef noodle soup. A great variation utilizes big prawns in place of the beef. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: 116 Victoria St., Richmond, VIC. A primarily Vietnamese neighborhood of Melbourne.

by keeweechic Some of Australia's finest restaurants are in Melbourne and the amount of restaurants is awesome. There is everything from expensive haute cuisine to good old take away fish and chips or pizza. The great advantage in Melbourne is that you can eat out inexpensively and enjoy a wide range of cuisines - everything you can imagine. With Melbourne's multicultural population, there are the best ethnic restaurants in the world. It`s a MUST to explore Lygon Street with a good appetite, or Chinatown when you have a hankering for Asian food. With Melbourne's big Greek population, it also has the best souvlaki. For that more intimate dining you can try the cosy restaurants of Toorak and South Yarra. Here are just a few of my favourites, but only a few and they are on the more upmarket scale however there are so many inexpensive great ones, a lot of names I have forgotten. Hot spots for dining in Melbourne are: Ackland & Fitzroy Streets, St Kilda Brunswick Street, Fitzroy Chinatown, Chapel Street, South Yarra Lygon Street, Carlton Southgate, Victoria Street, Richmond. by keeweechic Peppers Delgany - Point Nepean Road, Portsea, Victoria. Very fine dining in an exclusive hotel resort which looks like an old castle. It is the best restaurant on the Peninsular. Many cheaper restaurants do not have a liquor licence and you have to bring your own alcohol. These are known as BYOs. They may charge a small corkage fee. Some Licensed restaurants will also allow you to bring your own. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherComparison: more expensive than average

by leffe3 With its Englsih heritage, are you surprised that fish & chips play an important part of the culinary delights of Australia? But there's nowt nicer on a summer's day than ending it with cooked-to-order f&c, sitting close to the ocean. Barwon Heads has one of the ebst chippies to aim for on this part of the coast. You'd never believe it - its a general store selling tourist tack through to sweets etc, but a limited menu of 2 fish of the day and various chips, potato cakes etc is on offer. Grab a bag (wrapped in newspaper) and go sit on one of the many picnic benches and tables across the road. Sit aside the river with the ocean within view and enjoy. Yum!

by TheBlueSpeck I just love the big-hotel buffet breakfast! This one had all the usual suspects - fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast, juices, pastries, muffins, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs scrambled and fried, hash browns, baked beans, sausages, bacon, pancakes. Was included with our room rate, but non-guests wanting a big breakfast before hitting the slopes should stop by. Theme: Pan-Asian and Pacific RimAddress: Mercure Grand Chalet Mt Buller

by leffe3 Its a country that loves its meat - and espcially barbecue style. Its popular at home in the back yard, the terrace if you live in an apartment, but the best place to appreciate a barbecue is in the bush. Or at least in the controlled environment of parks, national parks etc. Throughout the state, gas run bbqs are to be found, availalble for use. For a few dollar coins, you can get enough gas to have a more than decent sized bbq. So pack up your eskie, take your food, plates (and take a couple pieces of onion to clean the bbq) and utensils and away you go.
