Near Sale, you can go for the 90 mile beach, a beautiful quiet stretch of beach perfectly suited for a long walk along the beach. On this autumn afternoon, I did not see many people on the beach, just a fisherman and a few families. Perfect to get my mind off work for a while.
I do not think, there are lifeguards stationed along the beach, so swimming probably is not recommended.
