Tuki Restaurant: Dining times
Another great thing about Tuki is that you don't have to book in to go there (obviously for groups or special occasions though you would).
You can just turn up at any time between 11 am - 6 pm for a meal, and the place is open every day of the week.

Meal prices: $22.50 (Children $11.25) This includes your entry, rod hire, bait and net.)
Your trout is cooked for you and served bone free in the restaurant, along with salad, potatoes and bread.
Of course there are some other things on the menu too, including the ones I've already listed.
And if you don't want to fish you can still just have a meal.

Our meal at Tuki's restaurant was beautiful - trout, of course, BBQ'd in foil and with delicious roast vegetables and salad. Not only that though, there was Tuki’s smoked trout pate and their lamb & herb sausages (a real delicacy for me!) and also absolutely delicious slow oven roasted lamb (another specialty of the property, though mostly the Tukidale sheep are bred for their carpet wool).
The restaurant is very rustic, with its original tin roof, exposed timber beams, (even a few cobwebs), wooden lining, but yet still also very stylish and comfortable at the same time, something I also come across rarely, as I find restaurants are usually one thing or the other. The heavy, solid, wooden tables and bench seats are laid out in booth style, which was just perfect for our gathering of 50 or so, (or for more intimate gatherings alike.)

The slowly roasted lamb and the lamb sausages, and of course the lemon marinated BBQ trout...absolutely delicious and impossible to pick a favourite from the three, really.

After the meal, it was rather warm indoors, so those from our table headed outside to sit at the outdoor tables....just in time to see one of the most marvellous sunsets I've seen in many years, stretching right across the horizon in front of us, all pink and red and just enough cloud to make the effect rather brilliant.
And then we turned and looked behind us and the bright yellow disc of the full moon in the clear part of the sky was just rising at the same time. That was really the most special part of the whole evening for me. Most of the others were still inside, not seeing what we were experiencing, though when we called them, they came quickly enough in time to see the sun sinking quickly and finally beneath the horizon behind the mountain range.
