    Road Trip to the Grampians

by ATXtraveler Written Sep 17, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you are headed out to the Grampians, you will most likely be coming from Melbourne, which means your best chance of getting out to the mountains within any specific time frame will require renting a car (unless you live within driving distance).

There are very stunning views to be observed no matter which direction you come from... the South has Dunkeld, the east with Pomonal, and the northeast toward Ararat are all possible paths.

Expect a couple hours of driving if you are coming from Melbourne.

    Hire A Car

    by Kate-Me Written Feb 28, 2003

Its surely possible to get to the Grampians by bus, since it is a major tourist attraction, but with so many things to see (and only a few of the walks leaving from the centre of town), you'll really need to have a car if you want to make the best of the place and see all you possibly can.
