Evedon Park is a 20 minute drive from Bunbury and is set in the green rolling hills of Burekup which is within a short driving distance of the wineries around the lush valleys of Ferguson Valley.

Bunbury has one and so too does Albany, but they are nothing to the older Burekup Rotary Tower, which was built well before Bi-Centennial projects were even thought of in the lofty ivory towers of far away Canberra.

As the photo shows, the Burekup Rotary Tower was completed many years before occupational health and safety became an industrial issue, however after risking life and limb by climbing the tower there is an additional safety risk if you dare try and raise a hand to take a photo - that's where the rotary part will get you.

All in all well worth the visit and I'd suggest at least 22 seconds to enjoy.

PS Band Aids are available at the nearby Burekup General Store but sadly no coffee - you'll have to go to Heathers place for that.

Now I should say that our original meeting place was to be the general store, so I could buy us all a coffee rather than impose on a total stranger and get an invite to their home. However Heather told me that the store didn't actually sell coffee - everything else but its a coffee-free establishment.

I was also told that the store didn't actually want money from its local customers - "Pay us next week, or whenever," again so I was told. I tried to get 3 slabs of beer (strange they should sell beer and not coffee) and 5 cartons of cigarettes and, "I'll pay you next time I'm in town." Didn't work!!!!

The general store does sell almost everything and is the local post office and whatever else the friendly proprietor can come up with to increase his business to emporium status.

Well worth a visit, but please BRING YOUR OWN COFFEE - LOL

2 local customers and it was a traffic jam
