Ningaloo Reef and Coral bay is sometimes home to the giant Whale Shark (seasonally dependent) when i was in Coral Bay it was April but the best time to see them is from May onwards, i did go out on a boat to see if we could spot one but i this time there was no sightings but we did see some Manta Rays which gave the day a real good edge.

Snorkling trips are easy to book and they are plenty to choose from with plenty of companies offering to take you out. Just go down to the main beach area and book if you fancy it.
It`s amazing how many fish and strange creatures you will see just by snorkling outside the boat, big Snapper will follow the boat all the way from the shore untill you reach the reef waiting for the captain to throw some food in, really was a worthwhile experiance.

    Restaurant made of Shells

To quote the card at the restaurant, the Old Pearler has claim to a few unique traits. Firstly it is reported as being the western most restaurant in Australia. Secondly it claims to be the only restaurant in the world to be made almost entirely of sea shells. Thirdly, it is the most photographed object in Denham.

A British man in the 1970's built the building using old naval relics to make the doorways, tables, fixtures, etc. The building blocks for the walls were hand cut from the calcified shell beds in shell beach.

It is one of the only restaurants in the town and possibly the most popular. We did not have a reservation, but were thankfully shown a table. Its a tiny restaurant, a reservation is recommended.

Favorite Dish: They do have a varied selection of meats and pastas, but being a fishing community, the fresh catch of the day is always best.
