Dunsborough Things to Do

This particular piece of coastline is an excellent spot for whale watchers , and if you are visiting this area , July is the time. This is when you will see the many humpback and southern right whales swimmimming north for the summer breeding grounds and in October and November you will see them on their return journey south.. There are many locations along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste national park coastline to catch this wonderful spectacle.some of the shallow bays are where the southern rights give birth out of the way of the sharks...

Great winery, wood fired pizzas at lunchtime on the weekends. Limestone floors, open log fire, small gallery, nice wine, what more do you need? There's a pretty view too.

Sea Caves near Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse 2 more images

by naomimason Written Aug 6, 2007

Cape Naturaliste points north between Yallingup and Dunsborough. The West side is the open Indian Ocean has some great surfing spots like Three Bears and The Other side of the Moon. Sugar Loaf Rock is a popular place and you can get some great photos of the coastline.
The East side in Geographe Bay is more sheltered and has some fantastic swimming beaches. Meelup is said to be in the top 10 safest beaches in the world so it is perfect for childeren. To the north between Bunkers Bay and the lighthouse there is a walking track that goes along the top of a limestone ridge. If you go along the coast at the bottom there are some sea caves that are definately worth a look.
