Sandboarding in the dunes of Cape Legrande National Park near Wylie Rock is part of the itineray on one of the Esperance Eco-Discovery Tours.
They provide all the equipment and what little instruction is required. Basically you jump on and sand surf as best as you can. Once you get the hang of it you can try standing up.
The worst that can happen is falling off while coming down too fast and getting sand in your underwear and other unmentionable places.
I took a half day tour to Cape Le Grand Nationalpark and the first stop was going sandboarding in the dunes not far from Esperance.
It was my first time doing this and it was definitely good fun. Apart from that, climbing up the dunes keeps you fit :).
Esperance Eco-Discovery Tours will take you on a local discovery tour through ruggedly beautiful Cape Legrande National Park. Included in the tour is 4 wheel driving on a long stretch of beach, up steep rocks and around the sand dunes with a stop for some sandboarding there.
Morning tea is provided at Lucky Bay which is an absolutley stunning backdrop while enjoying delicious home made muffins and a hot cuppa.
After a refreshing morning tea at gorgeous Lucky Bay it's time to put on your walking shoes and go for a one hour hike following a well marked gravel walking trail. This takes you from Lucky Bay to and past Thistle Cove with awe inspiring rugged coastal scenery along the way.
Lucky Bay is another of these stunning beaches you find around Esperance. It's situated in Cape Le Grand Nationalpark, about 60km East of Esperance.
There's a camping site there and quite some walking paths invite you to explore the area.
We stoped here on the tour to have coffee/tea and muffins. Perfect location for this!
See the pretty water! We went bushwalking and rock climbing. There was noone about on the day and we had to place all to ourselves. When we reached the summit of this very big cliff, we felt like kings on top of the world. This beautiful place is down the bottom of WA near Esperance.
This place fascinated me. There was a boardwalk over the swampland. It was so peaceful.
