    The meals at Sea Urchin Cafe are superb and not too expensive with many dishes made from locally caught fish.

    You can BYO alcohol as well to help keep the cost down! The cafe is only a few minutes walk from most accommodation and is an ideal place for an evening meal with a great atmosphere.

    The Spanish Mackerel and chips washed down with a chilled chardonnay is superb.

    Dine in or take away fish and chips. I recommend take away as it has the ambience of a busy take away shop. The fish and chips however, doesn't get any better than here.

    You must try the bluebone (a reef fish) with chips... absolutely delicious!

  • Grace's Tavern is situated on Murat Road - the main road through Exmouth towards the Cape Range National Park. It is the local tavern which has a great bar food menu but also has a restaurant section for a la carte dining with waiting service.

    Both menus will suit most tastes and a great meal (in either form) can be had for a very reasonable price. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere whilst the bar has large and small screen TV and a good local presence for chatting about the latest weather or whether the whale sharks have been sighted.

    On site is also the local liquor store with a drive thru entry as well as car parking facilities so you can stock up on your provisions whilst there.

    Any of the steaks here are well worth ordering (as they are in so many of Australia's restaurants) but they also do great Italian and Indian dishes. The bar menu (which fluctuates on an almost nightly basis) includes a pasta and a curry dish alongside more traditional bar fare.

  • You may need to search that little harder to find this hidden gem but once you've tired of the seafood and steak offerings of Western Australia, you may just find this a little blessing.

    Located at the rear of the Exmouth Shopping Centre, this restaurant offers a variety of oriental dishes to tickle any tastebuds!

    Noodles! In any form - they're delicious. Your desire for something different is bound to be satisfied here.

    This restaurant is part of the new Novotel Ningaloo Resort at Sunrise Beach, part of the new Marine developement.
    It's a beautifully designed area overlooking a lilly pond, swimming-pool and beautiful gardens, with first class service and food.
    There are 2 seating areas, inside and outside, both with comfortable chairs and a pleasant ambiance.
    The outside dining area is shaded and cooled a little by the air-con from inside.
    The restaurant and bar are beautifully decorated with original artworks, mostly of local fauna.

    The bar area also has comfortable chairs in side and out. Smoking is permitted in the outside area.

    The prices are only fractionally more than other restaurants in the area.

    I had the best garlic tiger prawns and scallop risotto I've ever tasted, and the food my friends ordered was equally as good. Portions were of a generous size.

    Snack foods such as wedges are available in the bar area if you wish to just relax in the delightful setting with a drink and a snack.

    We ate here twice and both times all the food was excellent.
    The restaurant specializes in fresh seafood, but has plenty of alternatives for those who don't eat fish.
    The setting is pleasant with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating.
    I got much too hot as the air-con and fans were not on, and the (free)water brought to the table was not chilled(chilled bottled water was available if you wished to pay for it).
    Prices around $20-$30au for a main course.

    I had the gold banded snapper on the first occasion and scallops with prawn risotto the second, both were well cooked, attractively presented and delicious
    The deserts were all lovely.

  • Graces pub across from petes backpackers do great food at reasonable prices. Can recommend the steak sandwich($7).

  • This restaurant is actually in Coral Bay, which is at the south-west base of the Cape Range National Park It is about 160kms from Exmouth, but well worth the visit. It is THE only restaurant in this small town worth going to. There are a few hotel restaurants and a bakery/cafe, but this place does breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the day it is standard cafe fare, but in the evening they have an a la carte menu domintated by seafood and locally caught fish. There are a few meat dishes, usually steak and chicken for non-seafood eaters. The tables are all outside under a verandah with fairy lights, and it is a very casual atmopsphere. You must book though, as this is the only decent place to eat it is full each night.

    We ordered the whole baked snapper with chips and salad for 2. It was about $40 which was excellent value. It must have been good, because after we had ordered it, another 3 couples followed suit! It was simply cooked with lemon wedges and fresh herbs and was very fresh. I also had oysters to start with and they were the juiciest and meatiest ones I had, had in our whole stay. There were many more tempting options on the menu and it took us a long time to decide, but we made the right choice in the end!

  • Directions: You can't go wrong really. It is in the small shopping complex next to the Coral Bay Hotel and the Peoples Caravan Park. Coral Bay is tiny - it is one small street - so you will easily find it.

    Ningaloo Reef Retreat offers great pub and bistro meals. There is one main restaurant but you do have to book. Opposite the supermarket there are a few excellent cafes with variety of meals available including pizza take-away.
