  • Time Zones: Western Australia is on Western Standard Time...( WST ) Which is 8 hours ahead of GMT WA is 1 1/2 hours behind South Australia and the Northern Territory and 2 hours behind all other states. From October to mid March,time differences to Victoria,New South Wales,ACT,Tasmania and South Australia increase by 1 hour because of daylight savings,which does not opreate in Western Australia.

    I wish Fremantle had daylight Savings.

    Fremantle - or Freo as the locals call it, is a favourite area of mine. I lived in Perth for 2 years just south of Freo and so a visit there most weekends was usually on the agenda. The shopping is great as well as the restaurants. There are some very different type of stores all set in a lovely historic environment. At the weekends, the buskers are out in force providing plenty of street entertainment.

    I love the old world charm of Fremantle. There are so many nice little shops in Fremantle,just stroll around and you will be amazed at what you can find.

    addressing fremantle with 'freo' as locals did is something reflecting the charm of the city. especially the old quarter from freo's train station to direction high street and kings square. it's beautiful. an architectural delights for my eyes and my camera.

    wander around old freo in one fine day with dearly vt member willy_wonka. she's proudly show me her beautiful city! and of course, speaking about freo i will never forgot to mention about shipwreck museum and the old buildings from high street, kings square to essex street.
