by keeweechic The building started off originally as a boat builders house back in 1889. Over the years it changed hands but came to be thought of as a significant landmark of historical value. After falling into disrepair, the council asked for tenders to restore the building, originally to be an art gallery but later an offer was accepted of a restaurant. The Left Bank Bar, Cafe and Restaurant opened its doors to the public in 1990. Right on the river, the Left Bank is hugely popular. One of their specialties is the Seafood Platter. Sunday sessions here feature live music upstairs and DJs downstairs. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 15 Riverside Road

by keeweechic This restaurant is right on the Swan River in East Fremantle and is part of the aquarama marina complex. The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows to take full advantage of the views of the boats and the river. You can dine alfresco under a covered verandah and there is also a private room for functions. The restaurant also has its own mooring facilities incase you are arriving by boat. Their menu is al a Carte with a wide range of seafood. On Sundays they have a morning buffet breakfast. They are open for lunch every day and for dinner Tuesday to Saturday and breakfast on Sundays. by keeweechic Sails is another harbourside restaurant featuring fish and local lobster. They have been a finalist in the American Express Awards twice. Some of the specialties include, red emperor and dhufish as well as GB’s Yumbowl which is half a lobster, prawns and reef fish smothered in lobster sauce and Creole spices (that's an expensive one). Sails is fully licensed and open for lunch and dinner, noon - 9.30pm every day. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodAddress: 47 Mews Road Fishing Boat Harbour

by keeweechic The stretch along South Terrace is known as the Cappuccino Strip. This road has change a lot in the last 50's years and has become a very popular venue for restaurants and cafes. Miss Mauds, which used to be an Italian Function Centre is now one of the larger coffee and lunch stops, along with the Dome and Old Pappa's. . Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by keeweechic There are many great seafood restaurants to choose from. Eat fish and chips in paper, sit outside and enjoy the harbour, or dine elegantly inside. Try Joes Fish Shack - so called the funkiest restaurant in Freo. Kallis Fish Market Cafe - award winning . Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Mews Road, Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle

A great restaurant, right on the Swan River. Get a table by the window if you can. The meal was great. We had a selection of Thai Green Curry (seafood), steak and Tuna steak. Everything was well cooked and superb. On the down side. Parking is horrendous when it is busy. With the Left Bank (bar/restaurant) up the road and little parking on the foreshore, trying to find a park is dreadful. Go early if you can. Fully Licensed. Ther eis a 10% surcharge on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays which I thought was a bit steep. Leave a Comment

Char Char Bull is an award winning restaurant on the Fishing Boat Harbour specialising in char grilled prime beef. The steaks cuts have been specially selected from year old Murray Grey beef from the Avon Valley which is inland from Perth. They also do wood fired gourmet pizzas and local seafoods such as fresh fish, prawns, oysters and mussels. The restaurant is licensed with a good selection of local beers and wines. Char Char Bull is open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner. There is also a cocktail lounge with comfy sofas to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or two. Sorry folks... there aren't any pictures here because yours truly forgot to take his camera!
I thoroughly enjoyed a garlic, rosemary & sea salt pizza for an entree and the Char Char 500 grams Rib Eye steak cooked rare with a rosemary jus as the main course. This is the place to be on Sunday afternoons. The Zydecats play world-class cajun zydeco music FOR FREE while a crowd of happy locals dance away the afternoon/evening. These guys are great and their sets are always uplifting and fun! Clancy's has great beer (and cider) on tap and serves up some of the best seafood in Perth...all very reasonably priced. Don't miss the seafood platter...but don't try to finish it off alone...it's HUGE! There's always a happy, friendly vibe, so bring the kids if you like.
