One of the free last stops enroute to New Norcia (other than the odd petrol station) to pick up any bits and pieces. They sell newspapers, lotto tickets, as well as liquor. They will also provide morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch. Like all good old fashioned general stores, they will just about doing anything including dry cleaning, photo processing and probably anything else you can think of.

South of Bindoon is the town of Bullsbrook - Home of the R.A.A.F. station of Pearce. The base is for pilot training and is commanded through Air Force Training Command. The Base is also home to a number of Air Command Units . Air support for Navy and Army units who are located in or deployed to West Australia is also provided here. The Base also lends itself as home to 130 Squadron, Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), who conducts military pilot training for the RSAF. Bindoon is a small town about ½ hr south of New Norcia. There is a small public park, a bakery and service station and in the local post office is the tourist information centre. You can stop here first to get your information for New Norcia – not that there is a lot, but a map of the layout of the buildings is essential. You will also find hot showers and toilets.

This historical little church is just south of the town of Bindoon. It was built in 1886 for less than £100 and is a lovely example of rustic architecture. All the timbers were either pitsawn or hand-dressed with an adze and the stones were hauled by voluntary labour and laid by a local stonemason.

In 1966 the property changed to become an Agricultural school for boys and then in 1995 the school became a co-educational college for year 8 – 12. The college is open Mon – Fri during school terms.
