Novaks is a pretty small pub with a nice feel to it. There is live music Friday and Sat nights. We often nip in for a drink on a Friday evening after work. They have a conintual video clip of music from the 70's, 80's and some of the fashions have to be seen to be believed.
You may notice from the photo there is a night club above called Rise from what I read on the door they seem to bring in a lot of overseas DJ's but apart from that dont know much else about it.
Novaks appears to attract the older crowd who enjoy a quiet drink with conversation.

Every aussie knows that after a few drinks, a kebab really hits the spot. So after a night of partying in Northbridge (perth's main nightspot), head over to the Istanbul Cafe, opposite the Paramount nightclub. It is open all night on fridays and saturdays, and serves great pizza and kebabs. Theme: Nightclub

I used to go here all the time but since i discovered fremantle i havn't been for months. However Northbridge has alot of life.. almost too much life for me. There a re alot of scary people around and lots of fightsbut if you avoid them they wont bother you and it is usually between gangs anyway. Northbridge is good because there are heaps of clubs to choose from or rotate from. I always make it to the Paramount. They have dance and R N B upstairs, country music downstairs but i tend to find myself upstairs on the couches or sitting on tables at the outisde bar inbetween dancing.

I visited this bar twice, and really enjoyed myself both times. The first visit was on a Saturday night, the place was packed and there was a really good atmosphere. I was surprised that inspite of the number of people there, you didn't have to wait too long at the bar or for the bathrooms. There was an excellent band playing, which was really cool, cos there was no cover charge to get in.
The second visit was a wednesday evening, where they had a meal deal kind of thing. So you pay $5, get a delicious BBQ meal and a stamp to give you discounted drinks for the rest of the evening! It was a real bargain! Again, there was a great atmosphere and good music.
