    The Brass Monkey: Monkey Beer

A great popular place to begin your night, you will have the choice between several athmosphere bars as an upstairs Café bar, a sports bar, the balcony and a courtyard area as well. A little hungry head to the Grapeskin which offer an original cuisine and some superb local wines.

Enjoy your night in the WA jungle ;-)

this was my favorite pub in perth - awesome place to hang out with uni friends. good live music (if u like rock). there's a local band there that plays various rock tunes from u2 and coldplay to rhcp and counting crows. and during breaks there'd be a DJ that spins rnb + dance tunes.

on friday this pub gets really packed, so be early to avoid the long queue.

Dress Code: casual! wear anything really

    Northbridge: Boogie with "LIVE" bands?

    Universal Bar

Universal bar has excellent bands and live performing singers. I went on a Thursday and there was this singer who sings almost like Barry White. No cover charges. Crowds are mainly the yuppies and 30s-50s. Can get very crowded on Saturday nights. The bar does serve simple nice meals too. Kitchen closes before 9pm.

Post Office: For a memorable Wednesday night

by Tripack Updated Jun 29, 2006 815 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Unlimited beer stamps available

For Wednesday's nights, a popular place to be. So after receiving a stamp on your wrist, go inside and head to the counter not to claim your mail, but some delicious beverages instead. Let's begin spinning around and have a Big Wednesday night.

I noticed that the bouncers were very efficient with bad boys, so keep cool otherwise you will be packed as an express parcel ;-) Staff was prompt and friendly as in every Port Office... and no queue to do at the counter.

Don't know if it is still the case as I was there in 2002, so keep me inform if any Post Office change occurs...

The blue building with a black cross

CHURCH nightclub is not your holy place that you think it might be. At night, the place comes alive with trance , bass and drum music. Mainly Asian hangouts on friday and saturdays. Entrance is $5 on fri after 11 and $10 after 11 on Sat. Depends on the 'season', sometimes it can be so packed down to a few people in the club.
Bring an ID for identification (v. important note for tourists)

Dress Code: NO trainers, sneakers, sleeveless for guys and minimal wear for ladies are always welcome.

The down side is , the cloaksroom closed at 3am while the club opens till late. duh*

Rise: Trance Lovers + DJ mixers

by FOotFetish Written Jul 5, 2004 157 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Rise

Very popular club among the Australians. I realise most crowds here are into these sort of music. I would say more for the younger crowds and most of them would get 'high' and drunk. Entrance fees apply on Fri after 11pm and Sat nights.
Bring an ID coz the bouncers do SUX at times at tourists.

Dress Code: Funky, hip hop dressing but no sneakers, or shorts, sleeveless for men.
