Subiaco: Lining up for a nightclub

  • In subiaco after the midnight hour when all the bars have closed (Llama is open unitl 2 or 3 I think!) there are only 2 nightclubs open!! The Red Sea and Saphire Bar The Red Sea (and dont i have many memories form this place....up until this year id been a member since it opened its doors to the glamour set back in 1998/99) is located opposite the Subi. Its located on the 3rd level of the building...it is actually 2 clubs in one...The Red Sea-on level 3 and Under the Sea on level 2!! the line for this place gets out of control!! if you want to get in and have a good nihgt i suggest you get ther EARLY...before the pubs close!!! The Line seriuosly get ridiculous!!! being a member ive neverhad to line up...but ive seen what its like!! Saphire Bar is pretty much the same get in befoee 12!! As Saph is a lot more popular than Red Sea they have 2 lines ..one is members the other is for non members...both lines get HUGE too!! But Saphire is a bit better thsn Red Sea now in terms of D&D behaviuor!! Both clubs charge around a $5 entry fee

    Both clubs have strict dress codes...no sneakers ect!!

  • There are 2 main streets in Subiaco where the night life is...Rokeby rd and Hay St. on the main intersection of both is the infamous Subiaco Hotel where the rich and famous have been eating and socialising and coming and going for the past 7 years or so..it is now an establishment. The beauty of the subi is you can still go down for a casual drink...and have a decent meal (slightly on the expensive side theough) Just down from The Subi is Llama Bar...a funky little lounge bar (owned by the same people who own the Subi)..the music is very groovey and funky and the atmospere is pretty good..lots of hot men in this place girls and lots of hot chicks for the guys!! Opposite Llama is The Regal Theatre...sometimes if your lucky they open up The Attic Bar....a very cool hip arty place...its not open as often as it used to be but its SUPER cool when it is! If you go down Hat st along the side of the regal you will see Oriel cafe...if you go up the back st there you will eventually get to Paddy Maquires (on the corner of Barker rd) this fun little Irish pub is great if you want to get away from the "glam" that inhibits Subiaco. i like the fact it is tucked away from it all! On Hay St (heading towars the city) ...but a bit of a walk..is The Vic Hotel...this big open space pub goes off whenever there is a sports event on @ Subiaco Oval...especially a rugby match. Its a bit quiter than the other 2 but still nice nevertheless....and they also do great food!!

    It is probably one of the better places to go for a night out..everyone is more dressed up and so much more beautiful. So if you feel like dessing up and heading out go to subi....however its still cool to be smart casual...its even more cas during the day!

    This edgy late night bar is the ultimate place for party circuit veterans and local indentities. DJ as well as live bands. Food also available at reasonable prices... Tasty too!!! Huge selection of Beers, Wines and Cocktails. This place packs out so it's best to get there before midnight as it is a venue for after the hotel bars close. Usually patrons from The Subiaco Hotel make their way here to continue partying on. You're likely to rub shoulders with some of Perths most beautiful people and sports stars...

  • This niteclub stay open LATE. If you want to dance and enjoy the different atmosphere of who's who and the beautiful people then this is the place. Can get crowded so it's best to avoid the long queues by getting there early. Most patrons arrive after Hotel Bars close. As Subiaco is a more upmarket area there are Three major places to go. Starting with The Subiaco Hotel then on to either Llama Bar or Club Red Sea & Under The Sea. Under the Sea is another niteclub where you gain entrace around the back it is situated under Club Sea. Club Sea has the Entrance on Rokeby Road and up three flights of stairs the top floor of this ultra hip niteclub.

    The Subiaco Hotel is a favourite with the locals. Best Venue on a Friday night or whenever the Football is on. This place is packed so it's best to get there before 7pm. Most people go after work for social gatherings as Friday is the most popular. You can stand around the bar, play pool, listen to music, or stand in the outdoor area that fills rapidly. Most smokers like that area as you're not allowed to smoke at any indoor areas. The restaurant is also superb and offers an assortment of delicious meals. This Hotel offers 4 Bars to choose from. A very popular venue for the locals.

    The Subiaco hotel is a landmark in Subi and the building has been around since 1898. Despite its age, the hotel maintains a modern image. It is one of those places that is both old and trendy and very popular for an after work drink or on footy nights. There is the cocktail bar which is a mix of old and new and has a good range of cocktails. Bianca’s bar has lots happening with music, pool tables and a large sports screen as well as bar food. There is a live band on Thursdays and Saturdays.

    The Ace Cinemas are at the bottom end of Hay Street in Subiaco just along from the Regal Theatre. They have 4 screens with sessions beginning at 9.45am. There is parking off Alvan Street.

  • A great new chic place in Subi to add to your a great night out. This place is always popular and quite often there is a line to get in. Great atmosphere.

    Subiaco hotel, also it's not a hotel, it's a popular spot to go out in Subiaco. Located in Hay street, it's a good place to sart on your evening. Always crowded during the week-end, you can eat fairly well in a nice athmosphere and then party in the different bars (Cocktails or Bianc's bar).

    Relax during the week, but a bit more dressed up during the week-end.

  • Nice bar on Hay street. Crowd between 20-30 years quite relax. Good drinks at afordable prices, little snak available. Busy in the week-end. And, well, this is where I met my wife.....so, it's obviously the best place of Subiaco.... :-))

    As in most bars in Perth, people have a tendency to dress up to go out at night. However I find llama bar a bit more relax than in other places.
