The Boatshed is set in Sir James Mitchell Park right on the Swan River. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great view across to the city. Some of the dinner choices are lamb shank Wellington, chef's crockpot pie, chefÕs grilled fish of the day with calamari, and some of the tempting desserts are tequila & lime tart, icky sticky pudding, and honeycomb mudcake. There is also a kids menu. The restaurant is non smoking and BYO and they do charge a $3 corkage fee. There is a 10% surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

The Boatshed has to be one of the nicest restaurants in Perth in terms of location and design. It is literally on the South Perth foreshore; step around the front and you'll be on the sand! The restaurant is very open plan, mostly wood, with huge windows all along the front that give you great views of the river and city skyline. These can be pulled back allowing the breeze to blow through when it's hot. Although it's quite smart-looking, it's very family-friendly, and kids will love walking along the river with swans and pelicans afterwards.
The staff are friendly and efficient. I have only had breakfast here (although they do lunch and dinner as well) and it's very good. The breakfast menu is quite small but every option is very tempting! It's a great way to start a lazy day, enjoying the views and a big breakfast before walking along the river. Breakfast reservations recommended for groups.
Favorite Dish: Vegetarian cooked breakfast - scrambled eggs served with wilted spinach and marinated feta, sundried tomatoes, grilled mushrooms and big slices of homemade toast. The french toast with blueberries is also delicious.
