Myer Perth by aussirose The worst thing about shopping is when you want to pee and can't find the loo. In Perth the most likely places are the railway station and Carillon City Food Hall, but you have to pay if you want to use these loos. So I'm going to suggest a couple of places that are accessable and free! In the Perth Murray St Mall, David Jones has the loos on the ground floor, near the food section and Myer has the loos on the below ground floor, down the escelator to your right, through the ladies clothes section. Joy - Silver and titanium pin by TheWanderingCamel A gorgeous new shop - light, spacious, stunning views of the city - and that's before you even check out the stock, the very best of contemporary crafts beautifully displayed. Even if you have no intention of buying, come in to see all the fabulous stuff -a real showcase of local talent. leyle
Glass, wood, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, prints, books - it's all here. The exquisite, the bold, the witty, the elegant - something for everyone.
From $1 for a card to hundreds for a magnificent piece of glowing glass or a beautifully crafted piece of jewellery. Leave a Comment Theme: Local CraftAddress: King's ParkDirections: Next to the tearooms

Hay Street and Murray Street are pedestrian only areas, and together with their connecting arcades form a large pleasant shopping area. The big department stores are here (Myers and David Jones), they are deliciously air-conditioned , Myers is a delight to walk through. There ia a variety of large and small shops and cafes with tables on the pavement. We stopped at the Forum cafe which served good coffee (you can see it in the photo) and had delicious pies from the pie shop in The Plaza arcade just opposite. The Carillion on Murray Street has a large food hall with a multitude of meals at very resonable prices. Takeaways such as Hungry Jack's (Australian flame grilled burgers), McDonalds, and Red Rooster are also available here. There are often performing Street artists and other open air entertainments. In the side roads all around this area are more shops, restaurants and hotels. The free 'Cat' buses will bring you here from other parts of the city.
I particularly like Picadilly arcade which has lots of small jewellry shops, some with opals costing $1000's, other with semiprecious stones in silver for less than $50. My son recommends Electronic Boutique in Hay Street opposite the Plaza Arcade for computer and console games. My daughter likes the 'Miss Shop" section of Myers for fashionable clothing that doesn't cost a fortune, and the designer labels in the ladies dept are popular with many. For food supplies, there is a Woolworth's supermarket in Murray Street, we bought soft cheese from Margaret River with crab and prawns to have for supper in our hotel room. It also has a liquor store.
Whatever you want! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Hay Street and Murray StreetDirections: Perth City Center.

Perth Jewelry shopping by aussirose I love this shop. It has gorgeous costume jewelry that is not too expensive. I bought this lovely bright green/blue necklass that really stands out. Looks like a New Zealand shell but it's only glass (shouldn't be tellin' you that should I :o) Anyway, I love it. If you look up in the left hand corner of the pic, you'll see something similar. Bringing Ma for shopping by FOotFetish Finally Perth has it own factory outlet stores that comes all under one roof. Another place to hang out on weekend instead of just the city itself. All sorts of brands range on clothings(men and women), designed wear, kid's wear, homewares, sunglasses, perfumes store have their prices slashed than the original deals. Check out the website for the list of stores.
Don't pay for anything more than $30 bucks. Anything more than that it's not worth to buy.
Major credit cards are acceptable in most stores. Depending on your spending budget which can range from AUST$2 (for a bottle of 600ml coke) to $2000. (perhaps can buy the whole store down ) Leave a Comment Theme: Discount StoreAddress: 840, Wellington St, West PerthDirections: Take train to Perth and walk about 10 mins. Perth Murray Mall by aussirose Perth has two malls, Hay Street and Murray Street Mall. This is Murray Street Mall. Woolworths on the right hand side is the place to go for some food shopping if you are like me and don't want to spend all of your holiday money on expensive restaurants. Up ahead on the left hand side is a fantastic coffee place - Merchant....a good recommendation for the best coffee in town. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Discovered this place. it's along the red CAT bus route. After u take the bus, walk downwards.. not towards the hill. Its quite quiet along there. There are quite a few factory outlets there- Esprit, Fils, Witchery, cotton on. In fact, it seems to be modelled after birkenhead point in sydney. Bought my touristy nougats there for only 18.95. Was a very good deal when most souvenir shops were selling for 25-27 in the city. Bought clothes too of course
Nougats at the factory outlet...
for clothes..they were abt 5-30 for tops Leave a Comment Theme: Discount StoreDirections: pick up a leaflet from the airport... they have exact directions and name of shops there

We have some great shopping centres my personal favourite is Garden City at Risley St Booragoon. There are also other shopping centres/malls Carousel, Galleria just to name a couple. Markets in Perth are nothing like the English (my only other experience) markets or Paddy's in Sydney they are more "arty" types. There are some good little odds and ends to be picked up at Fremantle, E shed also in Fremantle then there is Subiaco and Wanneroo markets. The Hay St mall in the city has plenty of shops of all varieties.
There are heaps of little souvenir shops in the centre of Perth and at the E shed markets in Fremantle. They are cheap and unfortunately most of them are not made in Australia but if you want to buy a lot of souvenirs you can't go past 20 koalas for $2.50!!!!!
People are often surprised how inexpensive things are in Australia of course like everywhere we have shops that charge like a raging bull but overall from my travel experiences I find Perth and Australia to be quite reasonable. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
