Ferry at Barrack Street Jetty

The green and white Transperth ferry across Swan River connects Barrack Street Jetty with South Perth and the zoo. The standard fare for adults is $ 1.60. Tickets can be obtained from the counter or ticket machine on the jetty, not on board.

The ferry runs between the Mends Street Jetty in South Perth and the Barrack Street Jetty in Perth. It's a cheap way to go between these two places and always gives the kids a thrill. Ferries run approx every 1/2 hour.

Timetables and fares are available from the Transperth website.

Golden Sun Cruises depart daily from Perth and Fremantle jetties and will take you up or down the river depending on what you want to see. You can either go one way or you can do a return and even take a luncheon cruise. There is a commentary as well to point out various areas of interest as you cruise. They also cater for Casino, Golfing, Vineyard and Brewery Tours.

Not to miss this trip as it is the cheapest way to experience the swan river. Take this as an alternative to road transport to Perth Zoo.

Huge mansion

Take a ferry to Fremantle and see gorgeous mansions alongside the swan river. You might encounter dolphins during your 1-hour travel.
