Fairbridge is an historic village not too far from Pinjarra. It is in a serene rural setting in the rolling foothills of the Darling Range.
It dates back to the 1920's when Kingsley Fairbridge purchased land to build a working farm for orphaned children from England. His vision was to teach homeless children farming skills to be used in the new and growing colony of Western Australia.
Most of the buildings were built between 1921 and 1938 many of which are still used today. Please take the time to check out the attached website and find out a bit more of the local history around Pinjarra.

Rockingham is a popular tourist spot with beautiful safe beaches and lots of opportunities for water sports. The sheltered waters of Cockburn Sound are home to Garden Island, Penguin Island and Seal Island. When living in Perth I used to visit Rockingham mainly for shopping but the drive is also nice.
