Pinjarra is about a 50 minute drive south from Perth (about 80km). From Armadale you can take South West Hwy 20 (30 mins), or from Mandurah (15 mins) along Pinjarra Road. Once you reach Pinjarra's Premier Hotel, turn onto Williams-Dwellinghup Road and you will find the dropzone about 4kms on the right.

WA Skydiving Academy also operate free courtesy buses which leave early in the morning and return after the last jump has finished so really you have to stay down there all day if you choose to go by this method.

Way back in the 1930's this little shop was the local chemist store and is now a part of the "Pathway to Pinjarra's Past" walking tour.

These days it is a cosy little Bric-a-brac shop where you can browse into the windows of our past with lots of goodies including chinaware, jewellery and all sorts of old curios.

Take some time to wander in and look around at this small shop packed to the rafters with other peoples treasures and trash.

There are many interesting affordable pre-loved items and some empty-your-wallet stuff as well.

Age: Only 14 years and over can do a Tandem skydive and for an accelerated freefall jump, the minimum age is 16. There is no Maximum age and you must sign a waiver to say that you take full responsibility. So obviously if you have any health problems, you do a jump at your own risk.

Weight: The maximum weight for all jumps is 95kg. If you are over that weight and wish to do a tandem jump, you may be approved but will incur a weight penalty charge.

A Close Position of Trust

A Close Position of Trust, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  Strangely there is no thought of the parachute not opening or something going wrong, the comfort factor is this stranger that is up close and personal behind you. You know he won't do anything to jeopardise his own safety.

Airborne

Airborne, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  The next thing you know you are sitting in a tiny plane, lying on its floor squashed in with 5 other people including the pilot ascending to the altitude in which you will skydive from. I was nominated as the first person to jump since I was closest to the door. I was fine...

With Thanks

With Thanks, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  With a thanks to your 'intimate' companion in getting you safely and gratefully to solid ground again.... What a Buzz!!!And now another 'tick' on the list of 'things already accomplished'.

The Landing

The Landing, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  Trying to remember all that I learned in the short lesson... Bend the knees, then straighten for a perfect standup landing. Hey that was so easy.... very smooth:-)

The Descent

The Descent, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  The cameraman descends before you so that he can take your gradual, falling approach. It was quite something to watch him manoeuver his parachute to hasten the decent. Knees bent in the position for the landing.

Leaving My Security

Leaving My Security, Pinjarra

keeweechic Says:  Oh my god, with a quick shove, we are outside the plane, standing on a thin arm of the wing and we are about to step off at 10,000 feet into nothing but fresh air.
