A beachside holiday place is not complete without the ice cream van :o) When I was young there were a stack of Mr Whippy Vans with the tell tale tune - Greensleaves haha. Anyway, an ice cream van (called Mr Wippo haha) pulled up not far from our picnic spot and of course the kids couldn't resist :o)

Narnegebup Environmental centre and has a wealth of information about the flora and fauna of the locally.
Is a community built, community run, non-profit organization open to the public six days a week.

These pics were take on their annual open day when the admission is free and extra displays are brought in, but much of it is permanent.

Opening times:-
Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4.30pm
Sunday 10am - 3pm
Closed Mondays

Rockingham beach

Rockingham beach is very pretty and definately worth a visit. Rockingham is about 40 minutes car journey south of Perth along the highway.

Now we have a new train line that will take you to Rockingham with a bus connection to take you right there.

I was fascinated by these long grain thingys that ran right out for miles. Western Australia is well known for it's huge exports. Here's a nice shot of the Shipping grain terminal through the foreshore trees.

The Granary Museum.
Authentic artefacts and materials that bring the history of the grain industry in Western Australia to life. you will see inter-active displays, a theatrette and reconstructed scenes of rural W.A.
All children must be accompanied by adults. Souvenirs are available. Covered, flat shoes are are recommended. (Persons wearing thongs will not be admitted.) No wheelchair facilites available. Maximum number of 40 persons for group bookings.
Times: Tours available weekdays between 8.30am and 1.30pm.
By Appointment only.
Tours: The Granary only: 1hr duration.
The Granary and Kwinana Grain Terminal: 2.5hr duration

	Rockingham Art Gallery & Craft Centre Tip Rating:

The Art Gallery and Craft Centre is made up of local arts and crafts as well as a gift shop and you can find their exhibitions on both the ground floor and first floor of the new Rockingham Council Buildings. A craft market is held every third Sunday of the month in the plaza outside.

Open: Mon - Fri: 10 am to 4 pm Open weekends when there are major exhibitions on display.
