We arrived Sunday afternoon and completed the Tree Top Walk before the storm arrived. It pelted heavy rain all night and together with the thunder and lightning it felt good to be inside a nice warm cottage. When morning arrived the rain had lessened, however it was wet and we decided to drive back to Perth mid morning.

On to the South Western Highway and within 20 minutes we came to a halt as the road was closed due to several large trees falling over during the storm. The State Emergency Service were clearing the road, using chain saws to break up the trees. Eventually after a half hour a passage was cleared and we continued on our way, however we quickly came across other sections of the road that had been cleared earlier by the SES.
