You don't have to be a Rhodes scholar to work out how this beach got its name and you will probably find the odd fisherman or two should you visit.
This beach is over on the far western side of Point D'Entrecasteaux and the road in, while sealed, doesn't favour those with a caravan in tow.
My motorhome had enough room to turn around but it is a bit tight at the carpark.
The beach itself is a natural delight and is suited to just plain walking.
As ever, should you choose to go for a swim you have to bear in mind that there's always a chance, however minimal, of meeting a white pointer; something I prefer not to do.

Point D'Entrecasteaux offers great views of the coastline and spectacular wilderness and this is accessed by the recently completed Cliff Top Walk which is part of the Pupulong Trail. Since it's only a 2.6 km return walk and wheelchair friendly it's definitely worth your while to go and check it out.
The coastal cliff walk connects Tookalup and Point D'Entrecasteaux, providing spectacular scenery of the 100 metre high sea cliffs.
A three kilometre scenic drive features vehicle viewing bays offering exceptional views of the southern coastline and coastal heath wilderness.
D'Entrecasteaux drive takes you to the Tookalup recreational site, complete with toilet facilities, and to Point D'Entrecasteaux.
There is also a wheel chair and pram accessible 350 metre walk trail which circumnavigates Point D'Entrecasteaux, it features and provides superb vistas of the rugged sea cliffs, coastal heath and expansive coastline.

It's not a town really, more a village with about 4 streets in total and they're only about 1 1/2 vehicles wide so driving my motorhome through the centre wasn't easy.
They're mostly wooden or prefab basic fishing huts. In fact, it was like looking back at the coast of N.S.W. pre WWII.

I had no idea what to expect but was surprised by what I saw. At the point with its lighthouse is a spectacular headland shaped by ancient ocean bottoms being eroded.
The pictures here give you an indication of the rugged beauty of the site.
As indicated by the harbour's name, it is apt to be windy though it was fairly calm while I was there.

I was on top of the point and suspected it might be a nice sunrise. It wasn't spectacular but I made my way down the rocky point to get some shots looking back towards the village.
