The parkland alongside the lake is a beautiful area containing extensive areas of lawn shaded by native trees ideal for picnics and family gatherings. There is so much lawn available you will always be able to find a quiet area where you can kick a ball with your children and not disturb others.
If you keep your eyes open you will most likely see some kangaroos resting under a shady tree at the edge of the parkland.
BBQ facilities are provided in the park.
Fondest memory: The natural setting, tress, lake and the koalas. A very peaceful location.
Pregnancy for koalas only lasts 35 days. When the joey is born it is only 5cm long and extremely undeveloped. It crawls into its mother's pouch where it lives and feeds for 5 to 6 months. By 8 months it is fully weaned.
We saw many koalas during our visit but could not tell if they had any young. They most likely had babies, however koalas sleep during daylight it is very unlikely that babies will be "on show".
