When in the Cook Islands you must rent a scooter and travel the Island, it is the only way to see the all of the beaches and the rural areas. $10.00 Canadian you can't go wrong. You must do some snorkelling in the clear blue waters that are full of tropical fish. The picture is near the Raratonga beach resort you dont have to be a guest to enjoy the beach here. The best memory I have is sitting on the patio at the Edgewater Resort watching the sunset.

Snorkelling is a great pass time. Go to The Fruits or Black Beach. Take Capt. Tama's Lagoon Cruizes. You go for a ride in a glass bottom boat, go snorkeling, and have a BBQ at one of the Islands on Muri Beach. Rent a scooter and drive the inner circle road for a real taste of Island life. Don't forget to go to Church on Sunday. The singing is fantastic! Be sure to dress up. It's the whole atmosphere of the place. The friendly people, the laid back lifestyle, the warm tropical weather, the vegetation, the beaches. It's like stepping back into time. Sunsets are spectacular.THIS PICTURE: Sunset at Manuai Beach Hotel

Rarotonga is a relaxing...

by drewtoni

Rarotonga is a relaxing holiday away from the stresses of everyday life - it is not packed full of tourist activities and it is the simple things that are the most enjoyable like walking along the beach early in the morning or snorkelling in the calm waters enclosed within the protective reef. The thing I love best about the Cook Islands are the people, particularly the children, who are always smiling and laughing.

Highlight to this trip was attening a Cook Islands Catholic Church service. It was beautiful. The service was in Maori and they sang like crazy! I'll always remember picking coconuts and other fresh fruit and eating it while sitting out in the warm evening air.
