Luggage and bags: Pack as little as possible,it will mean less to lug around, especially if you are going to some of the out islands by boat.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In Fiji's tropical climate, light cotton casuals are best. When outside the tourist areas you will need to cover-up. Women should take along some long dresses or skirts for this purpose. Also be sure to take a sarong or two so you can cover up that swimsuit out of respect for the village women.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take your tolietries in small bottles to take up less room and weight. Do take a lot of of sunscreen and apply it often.
Photo Equipment: Take what you will need for all those pictures that you won't want to miss.
Miscellaneous: Don't forget to put sunscreen on your lips. Fiji is the only place that I have ever gotten my lips sunburnt. They were twice their normal size!

Luggage and bags: Most upmarket hotel rooms offer luggage storage for all but the largest cases but if you are travelling/moving from hotel or hotel or particularly out to the islands, you are probably better taking a smaller bag, and making it soft rather than a hard case.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: As is typical of most beach type holidays, you always end up taking more than you need/wear. Take lots of cotton items, mix and match and even in winter you won't need jeans or heavy sweaters.
