I really wanted to email home and let some family know how I was doing, so I set out to find a cybercafe. After some digging I learned that I could access possibly TWO computers on the whole island!! One was in town in a shop in Vaitape area. The other was in a roadside shack which turned into a seafood restaurant at night. Guess which one had a computer that worked?? Yep, the grass shack. We had driven by it several times before we noticed it. It's called the Blue Lagoon and on a very crude sign fashioned out of a piece of plywood read "Internet Cafe Ici". I was able to successfully email home using French Yahoo. My visit was in 2001, so now there may be some more internet acess on Bora Bora! Leave a Comment
